Mission Statement

Four years have passed since the World Hepatitis Alliance began campaigning for awareness, and there’s no sign of them stopping now! Monday May 19th has been crowned ‘World Hepatitis Awareness Day’ and is marked by the patient-led WHA’s ‘Am I Number 12?’ campaign (to sign up go to www.aminumber12.org). Not only this, but the WHA has also launched its ’12 asks’ campaign which aims to get World Health Organisations to agree to a Hepatitis treatment programme and have it in place by 2012.

After May 19th the World Hepatitis Alliance hopes that many more people all over the world will be more aware of how Hepatitis is caught and spread, so as to avoid the risks, and for Health Organisations to start treating Hepatitis patients with the same vigour as they do with HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis sufferers.
